Trivia Question 6 Answer...

I think I should apologise for not making this question a little clearer.....Helene has appeared in both the TV series of Murdoch Mysteries alongside Yannick, Tom and Jonny, but she also appeared in the Movies of the Week that were based on the first three Murdoch books with Peter Outerbridge playing the lead role.

Helene was also nominated for a Gemini for her appearance in "Under the Dragon's Tail" in 2006.

The answers that Kaci and Melissa gave for her appearances in Durham County were correct. She has been nomiated for an award 3 times, in 2008, 2009 and 2010, with her normination in 2008 turning into a win for Best Performing Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role

Sorry for any confusion...another question shall be up later today

Trivia Question 3

There are so many great questions that I could ask about this wonderful show and it's cast/characters.

I would just like to say that Murdoch Mysteries has fans on both sides of the huge ocean we like to call "the pond" so the questions will be a mixture of questions about both the Canadian, American, UK and all the other UK actors that have appeared in the show. The only thing I can promise you though is that all of the answers to the questions can either be found in the episodes themselves or in the public domain.

Anyways, trivia question three is below:

Thomas Craig is not the only actor from Coronation Street to have appeared in Murdoch Mysteries. Which other actor appeared in the season one episode "The Rebel and the Prince?

And for a bonus, what are the names of the character's he played in both series?

Good luck

I Need Your Help.......

As no new information in available about the show and it's cast on a daily basis, there may be times when days go by with no posts, I would like to find a way to keep daily posts active...this is where you come in and I would like your opinion.

I was thinking about putting up a new post each day with a trivia quesion about the show and it's cast. Those who wish to take part would put their answer as a comment. We shall soon find out who is the biggest Murdoch fan.

Obviously there would be no prizes and it would all be a bit of fun, but I think this may be a way keep up daily posts and we can all learn something new about the show as we have some fun at the same time.

I would appreciate it if those of you who read this post place a comment to let me know what you think. If th response is good, I shall start the posts today.

Thanks all

Murdoch in the UK

As all of you fans know, the first episode of season 3 was partly filmed in Bristol, UK.

Me, along with a number of other fans had the privilege of travelling to the city and got to watch the filming that was done over three days during the August bank holiday 2009.

We all got to meet and chat with Yannick Bisson and the guest star, Lisa Faulkner, who returns to the show in season four. They were both lovely to talk to, as were the crew, some of whom found it hard to believe we had travelled so far to watch the show being filmed.

It was a great few days and amazingly, the three 12 hour days of filming that we watched equated to only 5 minutes on the screen!!!

Below are some of the pics that were taken over that weekend...I took close to 400 pics in total so it was hard to select a few but here they are

Not Strictly.....

Season 4 Premieres.......

The fourth season of Murdoch Mysteries premieres on Wednesday 16 March on City TV.

A date for the UK has yet to be confirmed, but if it is like the last three years, it will commence around four weeks before Canada. As it usually airs at 9pm GMT on a Tuesday evening, this would make it on or around 8 February.

Please note that this is unconfirmed and I will post the confirmed information as soon as I have it.

Thanks

Yannick appears in Elle Canada Magazine

This photo was recently posted on an STFBE writing forum by a fellow fan (thank you to the person who found this and shared it) and I thought I would share it with everyone here.

It's a short but sweet article about Yannick where he discusses Casino Jack, his family and life in Toronto, compared to Hollywood.  Article and pic below:

Yannick and Jonny take to the ice at the Listener Charity Hockey Game

On 5 December 2010, celebrities were out on the ice at the Ricoh Coliseum for a fundraiser hockey game for CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish.  With Door Prizes, raffles and an opportunity to watch The Toronto Marlies play the Chicago Wolves after the charity game, fans were treated to fun afternoon for a great cause.

Yannick and Jonny, being avid ice Hockey fans, took to the ice in aid of this worthwhile cause, whilst Helene looked on from the sidelines as an announcer. The team Yannick and Jonny played on won!!!! Pics are below:

Helene Joy and Jonny Harris at the 2010 Gemini Awards

The Gemini Awards are the Canadian version of the Emmy's celebrating the best in Canadian TV.

The Murdoch Mysteries received five nominations in 2010, but unfortunately was unsuccessful in winning. However, Helene was nominated yet again for her continuing lead role in Durham County, which she won in 2008, and she was also one of the announcers for the evening, along with Jonny Harris. Pics of the evening are below:

My Visit to Toronto and the set of Murdoch Mysteries

I had the pleasure of visiting Toronto, Canada in November 2010. During my visit I had the honour and the privilege of being able to visit the set of the show.

During my visit I got to meet all of the main cast, as well as several guest stars. The line up of guest stars for season four looks amazing.

As well as the cast, who we all see on our screens evertime we watch the show, the crew are just as integral in making the show as popular and as brilliant as it is. A huge thank you to crew members Director Cal Coons, Director of Photography and Gemini Award Nominee Jim Jeffrey, Writer Larry Lalonde, Chief Make-Up Artist and Gemini Award Nominee Debi Drennan, Props Master Craig Grant (and of course Monkey), Producer Steven Montgomery and many others, all who made our visits fun, enjoyable and so fantastic.

My friend and fellow fan, Kaci Wilson, came with me and we got the witness some of the funniest, emotional, nail-biting and wonderful scenes of season four. All I can say is that if the rest of the season is as good as the few scenes that we saw, we are definitely in for the best season of Murdoch Mysteries to date.

Many pictures were taken by both Kaci and I whilst we were there, and below are a few of my favourites. A big, big thank you to Iden Ford who arranged our visits to set, escorted us there and also took a lot of pics with his little point and shoot Leica camera. Some of the pics below were taken by him

Whilst we did meet Helene whilst we were there, out of respect for her wishes, no pictures will be posted.   Here are some of the pictures that I took whilst on set...enjoy.
